When Visionaries and Foodies Dine

Good food over amazing company --- two of life's finer blessings I'm very grateful for.

As we stepped into Galileo, I felt as if I was whisked to a different geography altogether with its cellar and dungeony charm.

15 minutes later, my friends arrived and were finally introduced to my boyfriend, who would only hear about them and the movie they're making through me and this blog.

Dinner was ordered in our behalf as a bottle of full-bodied Italian wine was served with Tomato Bruschetta,
and a platter of Provolone.

I immediately bugged them about the status of their movie editing, and over Salami, Bologna, Pepperoni and Prosciutto with Olives they excitedly recounted they are also in the process of applying for one of the biggest international film festivals.

There was so much to be enthused about and talk about as we recounted our "love story", how we met before "we met again". But the core of the night's conversation was really the premise behind their movie, which is "Where does happiness come from?".

In an earlier blog I spoke about Ayee, who happens to be my yoga master and high school classmate, and JP's film endeavor, "Isang Lahi: Pearls From The Orient", in which they talked to people all over the Philippines to seek a universal truth behind those who are happy, those who are not and what makes them so.
The conversation was quite festive over Mixed-greens with Gorgonzola,

Garlic Olive Oil Pasta, and a Tomato Calamari Pasta.

Dinner was capped with a very rich scoop of Tartuffo Gelato which I forgot to take a picture of because I devoured it immediately.

We were the last patrons in the house as we shuffled out of the bistro with our laughter echoing in the halls. Fine talent merging over good food, warm cheer and stimulating dialogues from great minds talking about music, purpose and visions for a better world.

Galileo himself would have been proud.
